Actress Natasha Richardson Dies Age 45

R.I.P Natasha Richardson, a British born actress.

I found a great write up from AP about the fatal accident, her life and acting career,

NEW YORK – Natasha Richardson, a gifted and precocious heiress to acting royalty whose career highlights included the film "Patty Hearst" and a Tony-winning performance in a stage revival of "Cabaret," died Wednesday at age 45 after suffering a head injury during a beginners' ski lesson.

Alan Nierob, the Los Angeles-based publicist for Richardson's husband Liam Neeson, confirmed her death in a written statement.

Grammy Awards over shadowed by Chris Brown & Rihanna Absence ** UPDATE

[Updated 9:21 p.m.] R&B singer Chris Brown has been booked tonight on suspicion of making felony criminal threats in connection with an incident involving his girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, according to Los Angeles Police Department sources familiar with the case.

Brown was booked at the Wilshire Division station and posted $50,000 bail, sources said. He left the station before 9 p.m.

Man Freed After 23 Years of Wrongful Conviction

 A man sentenced to life in prison for killing a woman in 1984 had his conviction overturned and was released Friday after spending 23 years behind bars.

Robert Lee Stinson, 44, walked out of the New Lisbon Correctional Institution in street clothes and hugged his sister and members of the Wisconsin Innocence Project. A judge vacated the sentence after the Project argued that bite-mark analysis and DNA evidence didn't match evidence from the crime scene, defense attorney Byron Lichstein said.

BARACK & MICHELLE OBAMA'S 1ST INTERVIEW SINCE ELECTION x 60 MINUTES

One of the things he will do as president is create a program to help keep homeowners from foreclosure, says President-elect Barack Obama in his first post-election interview.

Obama and future First Lady Michelle Obama spoke to 60 Minutes correspondent Steve Kroft on Friday yesterday in a wide-ranging interview to be broadcast this Sunday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

He also said he would make cabinet appointments soon and would name a Republican.

In the interview, Obama tells Kroft about the change in his life the election victory has caused, the need to set his priorities and talks about a variety of issues, including the economic crisis, the failing auto industry, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and America's prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Obama was serious about doing things differently, starting with the smaller things;

LEADERS of the G20 countries meeting in Washington have endorsed a plan for worldwide action to boost the global economy through tax cuts, higher public spending and lower interest rates. "Against this background of deteriorating economic conditions worldwide, we agreed that a broader policy response is needed, based on closer macroeconomic cooperation, to restore growth, avoid negative spillovers and support emerging market economies and developing countries," the final communique said. OMAHA, Neb. – President-elect Barack Obama won one of Nebraska's electoral votes, the first time in history that the state has split its votes and the first time in 44 years that it had given a vote to a Democrat.

After remaining ballots were counted Friday, Obama had a 3,325-vote lead over Republican John McCain in unofficial results for the 2nd Congressional District. Nebraska and Maine are the two states that divide their electoral votes by congressional districts.

Obama, who won the White House last week, has 365 electoral votes to McCain's 162. Missouri, with 11 electoral votes, is still too close to call. Election officials in that state have until Tuesday to finish counting.

Obama's Official White House Tour

 Barack Obama and President Bush shook hands and took turns to pat each other’s back. Michelle Obama kissed Laura Bush, the First Lady, on the cheek.

Then, from a crowd outside the south portico of the White House, came a noise that has not been heard there often in recent years: cheering.

The 43rd President of the United States and the man who will become the 44th both wore blue ties and dark suits. Shortly before 2pm yesterday, they walked along the colonnade by the rose garden and headed to the Oval Office to talk about pressing policy matters.

Mr Obama sneaked in a final touch on the shoulder of the man he will succeed, perhaps giving himself a psychological advantage as the man in charge – the patter-in-chief – before their conversation.
